GAME  DESCRIPTIONS
 
Ladies Club Tournaments:
Eclectic Tournament
  • 2 day tournament playing for the Crystal Bowl Trophy.
  • Final score is calculated by using the BEST gross score for each hole over the 2 days, minus handicap.
  • Player must have a valid (putted out) score for each hole at the end of Day 2.
  • To help pace of play, players are encouraged to stop playing a hole when they cannot improve their hole score.
Diamond Stableford
  • 1 day tournament playing for the Thunderbird Trophy.
  • Players are divided into 3 or 4 handicap groups and randomly picked to form teams through a blind draw.
  • Teams of 4 players, using the Stableford scoring system, record the 2 best Stableford scores (NB: not net scores) on each hole.
  • Team with highest total Stableford points is the winner.
  • To help pace of play, players are encouraged to stop playing a hole when their score will result in zero points.
Tuesday Ladies Championship
  • 2 day tournament playing for the Whale Trophy (Low Gross) and the Dogwood Cup (Low Net).
  • Golden Girl Trophy is awarded to the Low Net player over 70 years of age.

Team Games:
Two Best Net
  • Equalized handicaps set by the Draw Committee.
  • Each player plays their own ball.
  • Two best Net scores on each hole count for the team score.
  • Payout based on lowest two best net team score.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Team Stableford
  • Equalized handicaps set by Draw Committee.
  • Scoring based on points awarded for net scores: Eagle =4 pts, Birdie=3 pts, Par=2 pts, Bogey=1 pt.
  • Two best Stableford points count for the team score.
  • Payout based on team scoring the highest Stableford points.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes (will mean 0 points).
  • Cha Cha Cha or Team Polka
  • Equalized handicaps set by Draw Committee.
  • Each player plays their own ball.
  • Team score Cha Cha Cha is 1 best net on Hole #1, 2 best net on Hole #2, and 3 best net on Hole #3. Repeat.
  • Team score Polka is 1 best net on Hole #1 and 2 best net on Hole #2. Repeat.
  • Payout based on lowest net team score.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Captain Vs. Vice-Captain
  • Four Ball Match Play (see Rule 23)
  • The field is divided into 2 equalized teams.
  • Each foursome consists of 2 players for each team.
  • The lowest handicap in the group is taken to 0 and the other players get strokes based on this handicap differential.
  • Matches will be better/fairer if handicaps are within the 10-15 range.
  • A team is awarded 1 point for a win on a hole, ½ point for a tie, 0 for a loss of hole. All 18 holes are played and scores posted to Golf Canada.
  • Payouts awarded to all players on the team with the highest point total.
  • Match Play Rules apply.
  • Foursomes (Alternate Shot)
  • 2 person teams set by the Draw Committee, playing alternate shots (1 ball).
  • Handicaps are added together and halved for the team handicap.
  • Payout based on lowest net team score.
  • Score cannot be posted to Golf Canada.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Joker’s Wild
  • Equalized handicaps set by the Draw Committee.
  • Each player on team is randomly assigned a playing card suit (hearts, diamond, clubs, or spades).
  • After each hole completed, players find out which team members score counts – according to which suit is drawn.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Scramble – Texas or Step Away
  • Equalized handicaps set by the Draw Committee.
  • Everyone tees off.
  • Team chooses the best of 4 shots, and each player hits from there till holed out.
  • In Texas Scramble, 3 tee shots are required from each player.
  • In Step Away, the player whose ball is selected does not hit the next shot.
  • Score cannot be posted to Golf Canada.
  • Team Various Nets
  • Equalized Handicaps set by Draw Committee
  • Team score equals: 3 low net on Par 5’s, 2 low net on Par 4’s, 1 low net on Par 3’s. (Alternately: 1 low net on Par 5’s, 2 low net on Par 4’s, 3 low net on Par 3’s).
  • Payout based on low net score.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Pink Lady
  • Each Team plays one numbered pink ball. The object of the game is to play all 18 holes and return the numbered PINK LADY to the scorecard box.
  • Player #1 (first on the scorecard) plays Hole #1 with the PINK LADY, Player #2 plays Hole #2 with the PINK LADY and etc. for Player #3 and #4.
  • Rotate through the players until the 18th hole or until the PINK LADY is lost.
  • Indicate with an X on the scorecard, on which hole the PINK LADY was lost.
  • Continue play even if you lose the pink ball.
  • PINK LADY is considered lost when OB, in the water and unable to be retrieved, or not found anywhere on the course. (Penalty strokes apply).
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • The Eliminator
  • Equalized Handicaps set by Draw Committee.
  • Each player plays their own ball.
  • 1st Hole – use 1 best net, then that player is eliminated.
  • 2nd Hole – use 1 best net of the 3 remaining players.
  • 3rd Hole – use 1 best net of the 2 remaining players.
  • 4th Hole – use the best net of the last remaining player.
  • Repeat every 4 holes.
Payout based on lowest Net team score.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.

Individual Games:
  • Putts Competition – Captain’s Trophy
  • Low to High Handicap
  • Players track the number of putts per hole.
  • Based on fewest putts in 2 out of 3 rounds.
  • NOTE: a putt is defined as any stroke taken after the ball comes to rest on the green (see example in Handbook).
  • Payout based on fewest putts (May be flighted).
  • Gimmies – No;  Max score – No (must putt out).
  • Skins
  • 1 point per hole for a total of 18 points per group.
  • The net winner of the hole wins 1 point.
  • If the hole is tied, the ‘skin’ is carried forward to the next hole and so on until a hole is won outright, then all previous tied hole points go to that winner. 
  • (I.E.- if 4 holes are tied, then the player who wins on the next hole gets 5 points).
  • Payout based on players with the most points.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Low Net Flighted
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • Each player plays own ball.
  • Payout base on low net score by flight.
  • Gimmies –Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Low Gross Flighted
  • Similar handicaps.
  • Each player plays own ball.
  • Flights determined by handicap and number of players.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Bingo, Bango, Bongo
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • Each player must play according to order determined by lowest gross score of last hole for the tee shot and furthest from hole for fairway to green.
  • 3 points per hole – 1 point for first on green (Bingo), 1 point for KP (Bango), 1 point for first in the hole (Bango).
  • Payout based on highest individual point total.
  • Gimmies –Yes, after 1st in hole determined;  Max score – Yes, after 1st in hole determined.
  • Stableford
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • Scoring by Stableford points (based on net score per hole):
  • Net Bogie=1 pt, Net Par=2 pts, Net Birdie=3 pts, Net Eagle=4 pts.
  • Payout based on highest Stableford points.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Three Blind Mice
  • Mixed handicaps.
  • 3 holes randomly selected by Golf Shop to be determined, revealed
  •  and thrown out after the round.
  • Payout based on net score minus the 3 holes. (May be flighted).
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Criss Cross
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • Play regular game.
  • Draw Committee, by blind draw after the game and prior to scoring, will select 9 holes to count for the gross score minus ½ the handicap, selecting alternately from front 9, then back 9.
  • Payout based on lowest net score of the 9 holes. (May be flighted).
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Hate ‘Em
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • At 1st Tee, circle the 2 holes you hate the most, one on the front 9 and one on the back 9. Or alternately, select 3 holes: one par 3, one par 4, and one par 5.
  • Play round as usual, then subtract the “hate’em” holes from the total.
  • Deduct handicap from revised gross score for the net score. Patout based on best net score. (May be flighted).
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Best Net Par 4’s or Par 5’s
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • Play regular game.
  • Total net score for Par 4’s or Par 5’s.
  • Payout based on best net score for the Par 4’s or the Par 5’s. (May be flighted).

  • T’s and F’s

  • Count net score for each hole that begins with a T or an F (T’s= #2, 3, 10, 12, 13; F’s= #4, 5, 14, 15).
  • Payout based on net score for the 9 holes – ½ of handicap used. (May be flighted)
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • Fun Skills Game
  • Mixed Handicaps.
  • Fun round playing for prizes that incorporate things we do every round of golf.
  • Points are awarded for skills such as: 1) # of fairways hit, 2)fewest putts, 30 playing 18 holes with the same ball, 4) # of 1 putts, 5) Up and down from sand bunker, etc. (see Skills List attached).
  • Limit to 4 skills maximum.
  • Payout based on most points.
  • Gimmies – Yes;  Max score – Yes.
  • 3 Clubs Only
  • Mixed Handicaps
  • Player chooses 3 clubs only to play the round.
  • Payout based on net score. (May be flighted).

  • Par (Net) Rounds

  • The game is played against the course!
  • Score +1 for winning the hole, and -1 for losing the hole, 0 for a tie.
  • A hole is won if your net score for the hole beats par for the hole.
