General Reminders:
- Groups of 4 players will be the norm.
- Only 2 riding carts allowed per group.
- For individual games:
- A scorecard will be provided by the Draw Committee.
- Also keep a second scorecard, to be used afterwards to enter your score into Golf Canada.
- Exchange scorecards with another player.
- After the game, sign and attest your scorecard, and then place it in the locker room wooden box.
- For team games:
- The team captain (first name on the list) will be given a scorecard by the Draw Committee, and will keep score for the team.
- The team captain will keep two scorecards – theirs, and for the team.
- All other team players will keep one scorecard – their own.
- After the game, the team captain signs the scorecard and then places it in the locker room wooden box.
- For all games:
- Keep your own score – on a separate score card.
- After the game, on the same day, enter your score into Golf Canada, recording hole by hole gross scores. (This card is not submitted in the wooden box.)
Putting:
- We will be putting out … with some notable exceptions!
- Pick up if you have reached your MAXIMUM score per Golf Canada guidelines (par + 2 + handicap strokes).
- If your score on any given hole is so “generous” that it will not contribute to the scoring outcome, please pick up (in the interests of keeping pace of play)
- Mark and “X” next to your score on the hole, for any hole where maximum scoring was used and you picked up
- There will be rounds where putting out is required, such as:
- ARLGC Tournament
- Pin & Putts rounds
- Any game of the day where it is explicitly noted.
- Gimmies will be allowed, within reason and fairness.
- The maximum allowed gimmie length is the length of the putter grip
- Any questions regarding the length of a gimmie are to be resolved within the playing group
- Handicap Groupings
- Teams will be made up either by mixing handicaps or equalizing handicaps, meaning the sum of the handicaps for the teams will be as close as possible (seldom literally equal)
- For Pin Rounds, handicap differentials will be within the 10-15 range.
Toonie Pot - $2:
- The Toonie Pot is in addition to the Game of the Day. Winnings are shared amongst the prize winners.
- Participation is voluntary.
- If participating, sign up each Tuesday in the Pro Shop by initialing beside your name on the draw sheet, and depositing your $2 in the Toonie can.
- The challenge may or may not be flighted depending on the number of players that day.
- The following definitions apply to both the Game of the Day and Tournaments:
- KP (Closest to the Pin) is the shot from the tee box landing on the green that measures closer to the pin than any other player's shot in your flight.
- Long Putt is the longest putt on the green that lands in the hole and was farther from the hole than any other player's putt in your flight. (It might be on any Par 3, 4 or 5 and does not have to be your first putt).
- Long Drive is the drive from the tee box landing on the fairway and farther down than any other player's drive in your flight.
Prize Awards:
- Individual and team game winners will receive 3 points for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, and 1 point for 3rd.
- Payouts will be made at the Closing Event, to your Credit Book.
- Tournament winners will receive Credit Book prizes after the tournament.
- Trophies are awarded at the lunch following the tournament.
Pin Rounds:
- “A provincially sponsored stroke play competition, less full handicap, to be played on the member club course under the same conditions on specific days.” – BCGA
- This is in support of Junior Golf.
- Golf Canada has discontinued this award.
- Participation is voluntary; to take part, pay $2 along with your annual registration.
Putting Competition:
- Individuals will need to track the number of putts on their scorecard.
- The number of putts does not need to be reported to Golf Canada.
- Based on the least number of putts in 3 out of 5 rounds.
- Winner receives the Captain’s Trophy
- Note: putts will be counted using the same method as the PGA tracks putts … which is: Once a player is ON the green, ALL strokes taken are counted until the player HOLES OUT. Example: Jane is on the green in 3 strokes. Her first putt rolls off the green; she chips back on for her 5th stroke; and takes 2 more strokes to hole out (7 strokes total). Her total score is 7 strokes and her total number of putts is 4.

Team Match Game or Four-Ball Match
- The field will be divided into two equalized teams
- Each foursome will consist of two players for each team

Scramble/Step-Away Scramble
- Equalized handicaps set by the draw committee
- Everyone will tee off
- The team will choose the best of the four shots and each player hits from that position
- In Step-away scramble – if your ball is selected you do not hit that shot
- Proceed to the next shot and follow the same procedure
- Once the ball has reached the green, all four players take one putt
- If not holed out, pick up the ball - you should not count more than two putts per hole
- Each player MUST have their drive chosen at least three times
Jokers Wild
- Equalized handicaps set by the draw committee
- each member of the team is randomly assigned one of the four playing card suits (heart, diamond, spade, club)
- on each hole, the players find out only after completing the hole which team member's score(s) will count as the team's score
Pink Lady
- Equalized handicaps set by the draw committee
- Each team will have one pink ball and the object of the game is to come into the clubhouse with your PINK LADY
- Player 1, first on the card, plays with the pink ball for the first hole, second player on the card on the second hole, third on third, and if you are a foursome, the fourth on four; and then start the rotation over again until completion of the round
- Teams should indicate with an X on the score card, on which hole they "lost" their pink ball (if you lose your Pink Lady, just play golf)
- The Pink Lady is considered lost when out of bounds, in the water or lost in the woods, or in a red penalty area
- BUT... if you can find and identify your ball in the red penalty area only (even taking a penalty stroke, you can keep your Pink Lady going)
- On the bottom of the Team Scorecard, indicate how many holes your team was able to carry the Pink Lady - hopefully it will be 18 holes
Nickel Skins
- Player’s handicaps should be in the 10-15 range
- Four player match played off the lowest handicap in the group (i.e. if players hcps are 20, 26, 29, 31, player one will have 0 hcp, others will have 6, 9, & 11 respectively)
- Each player brings 18 nickels, the captain also brings a baggie
- At the start of each hole, each player puts a nickel in the baggie
- The net winner of the hole wins the skin (4 nickels)
- If there is a tie, the ‘skin’ is carried forward to the next hole
- If it is tied after 18, split the pot
Team Various Nets
- Equalized handicaps set by the draw committee
- Team score equals 1 low net on par 5s, 2 low net on par 4s, 3 low net on par 3s
- Alternatively the reverse, 3 low net on par 5s, 2 low net on par 4s, 1 low net on par 3s
- Payouts based on low net score
Bingo, Bango, Bongo
- Players handicaps should be within the 10-15 range
- There are 3 points per hole: 1 point for first on the green, 1 point for closest to the pin once all balls are on the green, 1 point for first to hole out
- Payouts are based on highest total points
- Each player must wait his proper turn to hit and gross score per hole determines the honour for the next hole
Better Ball Twosome
- Mixed handicaps
- Each player plays and individual game
- 2 person teams are pre-determined by the draw committee
- Best net score per hole is recorded as the team score
- Payouts for low net team score
Card Game
- Equalized handicaps set by the draw committee
- Each player plays her own game and is assigned a card suit (i.e. diamond, club, heart, spade)
- After each hole a card will be on the next tee which determines which player’s score will be used as the team’s net score from the previous hole
The Eliminator
- Equalized teams set by the draw committee
- Each player plays their own ball
- 1st hole – use one best net, then that player is eliminated, 2nd hole – use one best net of the remaining three, 3rd hole – use one best net of the remaining two and 4th hole – use the net score of the remaining player.
- Repeat throughout the remainer of the holes
Gross and Net
- Equalized teams set by the draw committee
- Team score is determined by: 2 gross scores on par 3s, 1 gross and 1 net on par 4s, and 2 net on par 5s
